Light crude oil:
Less dense (more API)
More fluidity
Less sulfur and impurities
Easier refining and production of more valuable petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel
Its price is generally higher than heavy crude oil
Heavy crude oil:
It has more density (less API).
Less liquidity
More sulfur and impurities
Harder refining and production of lower value oil products such as fuel oil and bitumen
Its price is generally lower than light crude oil.

In 2023, Iran exported an average of 1.2 million barrels of crude oil per day.
The biggest customers of Iran's crude oil are: China, India, Japan and South Korea.
Kazakhstan:
In 2023, Kazakhstan exported an average of 1.5 million barrels of crude oil per day.
The biggest customers of Kazakh crude oil are: China, Italy, Netherlands and Russia.
Russia:
In 2023, Russia exported an average of 5 million barrels of crude oil per day.
The biggest customers of Russian crude oil are: China, India, Germany, Netherlands and Italy.
